Implants + ED Drugs = POWER DRILL

In my last blog entry a year ago I wrote how penis implants are both good and bad. I think I could have continued for a little while longer with injection therapy even though its performance was beginning to decline.  My member would get larger but not quite as firm as before, and with my new girlfriend there were difficulties involving the big size but lack of hardness, so penetration was rather difficult. Thus my decision to get penis implants was sort of made for me.  I love and wanted to please her in every way possible, so I underwent the surgery in the hope that making love would be easier for us.

As I said, with implants my love wand was hard but both shorter and thinner than before. Instead of a "balloon" feeling it was more like a finger inside a glove with a little sliding of the outside, and the head did not swell like a normal erection, so I was a bit disappointed. Oddly enough, though, the hard & skinny new equipment made it much easier to achieve insertion, and we were both pleased with the result. The last time we made love I came twice, which never happens, and so did my Orgasmic Goddess, for whom it was just another really good night.

Like any man, though, I still hoped maybe there was something that would help me be all I could be, so to speak, and I eventually stumbled upon a medical study that concluded something like 70% of the men with implants tested derived greater satisfaction with the use of Sildenafil (Viagra) along with pumping up the implants. I had noticed that when I got really aroused like when I was kissing my beautiful partner, things did seem to swell a bit even before I pumped up the implants, so a little chemical boost could only help matters.

And did it ever! I had a previous prescription for Rugiet (good stuff- see past entry) which has Sildenafil, Tadalafil, and Apomorphine. I experimented with it, and within minutes my skinny willy became FAT and HARD, even harder than with the implants alone, and the head was swollen like a mushroom cap. I felt like I could poke holes in the drywall of our bedroom. The Apomorphine is a Dopamine agonist, which excited my brain and made me desperate to poke the HELL out of SOMETHING!  My very understanding Lady (who is now my wife) got into the spirit of things with almost no prompting and did her best to guide my zeppelin into the hangar.

The funny thing was that my expanded member (which by now resembled a hot dog cooked in the microwave so long that the skin was tight and seemed about to burst) made it extremely difficult to achieve penetration. I pushed and pushed, hard enough that my meat rod bent but still couldn't force entry.  I guess she is one of those "tiny giny" women whose gates of heaven are narrower than most. So our next love making session will involve only the implants.... Rugiet: It's The Real Deal!

 So I wondered if maybe the Acoustic Wave treatment might have made the use of oral ED drugs more effective for me, since I have severe ED.  Maybe I wondered aloud and my cell phone heard me, because almost immediately Facebook showed me an ad for Rugiet, a new oral ED treatment.  It is a softgel that dissolves under your tongue, which they claim helps it take effect in as little as 15 minutes.  There are 3 different-strength formulas, the "max" of which contains (I think) 110 mg of Sildenafil (generic Viagra), 40 mg Tadalafil (generic Cialis) and 3 mg of APO, short for Apomorphine, a new one on me. 

Their literature says APO has the effect of preparing the nervous system for sexual stimulation. It is a dopamine agonist (or promoter) that affects dopamine receptors which (I think they said) send sex-related signals through the body.  It's fairly new but has been very effective in clinical trials, with the most common side effect being nausea, which goes away with continued use.  One study I looked at seems to say that it is almost as effective for men with severe ED as for mild or moderate ED....  Okay, to cut to the chase: I think I can attest to that.  There is a comment at the end of the study description that suggests that another reason the APO works is that some of the root cause of physical ED may be in certain areas of the brain.

         ( I've screwed something up in the formatting, can't seem to fix it.) I got the package in the mail and couldn't wait to try it out. I put the little soft square under my                tongue and it dissoved fairly quickly, had a vaguely minty taste which was not bad.  It took longer            than 15 minutes, but not more than 30-- conjuring up some sexual imagery in my mind, my                 mini-me self-initiated a launch sequence which hadn't happened in several years.  I went into the next room to my girlfriend and asked her to help me with something in the bedroom.  With a quizzical expression she did so, and on arrival I took her in my arms and kissed her deeply. At the end of the kiss I dropped my pajama pants and stepped back.  "HOLY CRAP!" she exclaimed, and took the angry little feller in hand and began feeling it...   In truth, it was just almost hard enough for penetration, but that was way beyond anything I'd achieved without an injection in a long time. She stared at it for some time, fascinated, squeezing it and then gently stroking it, making me moan softly.  When I did, she looked up at me with an amused expression, then pushed me back on the bed and went down on me with a vengeance.  I was surprised by the experience, but it put me in a zone where it felt so good I didn't want it to stop, so I didn't come for quite a little while, but when I finally did come it was explosive, and would have set new height and distance records for me had she not completely contained and swallowed it all except for a little dribble that ran down her chin. She stared hotly into my eyes and grinned.  

It's hard to describe the difference in feel between an oral drug-induced erection and one achieved by injection. It just feels more natural, and by extension more exciting.  I felt much like I had back in the day almost 18 years ago when Cialis enabled me to make love with my late wife 5 times in one 24- hour period.  Having had severe ED for the last 10 years or so, it was incredibly surprising.  I'm kind of hoping that with repeated use I may be able to achieve actual penetration-worthy hardness. I admit I've contemplated maybe taking two doses at once:  I don't know about the double Sildenafil and Tadalafil, but the APO study tested doses up to 6 mg, so I think I'd be good, there. Hmmm...

The bottom line is, I would bet that a man with mild or moderate ED would be blown away by how effective Rugiet can be, maybe men with severe ED, too.  But of course, it's not cheap-- the 1-time trial order was $170 for 6 doses, although the regular recurring order option i, I think, a little cheaper per dose.  Right now, though, I'd say it's freakin' WORTH IT, BABY!

 

 

     

Where is my Stendra? And where is my ED 1000?

These are two ED treatments you've probably heard about if, like me, you research ED cures every other day hoping for a miracle.  Just in case you ain't heard, the miracle may be here, or rather, may be in Canada, Europe, and everywhere else except the USA!  The ED 1000 is a version of the ultrasonic shock wave machine that has been used successfully to grow new blood vessels in damaged heart muscle, now adapted for use on the penis to cure, that's right, CURE most ED problems.  It's made in the US and has been in use in Canada and the UK for a couple of years, and they report something like a 95% success rate.  The UK has pressed ahead with it because their National Health Service currently pays at least part of their citizens' Viagra and Cialis bills, so a cure would reduce that cost.  I read somewhere that the treatment takes 6 weeks and costs around $2100.  Hell, I'll spend almost that on EDEX this year alone!

Stendra is yet another PDE-5 inhibitor medication that supposedly was approved by the FDA in April, 2012, but I can't find any information on its availabilty.  My drugstore did not have it in its catalog, and I signed up for a newsletter on the manufacturer's website but have heard nothing from them.  Supposedly it works faster than Viagra, in like 15 minutes, and it wears off in an hour.  I thought I might try it, since every ED drug I've had works great for awhile then quits, except for Papaverine and EDEX which never fail.  We'll see....

UPDATE:  I read where the developer of Stendra finally obtained permission from the FDA to advertise that it was more fast-acting, and that having this permission persuaded another drug company to partner with the original developer in production and investment, etc.  Supposedly that means that Stendra may become available by the end of 2013.  Keeping my fingers crossed!  I've called a couple of ED clinics in Canada, but I've yet to find one that offers the ED 1000 treatment.

UPDATE, 03/13/2014: Stendra is now available.  There are numerous brochures sitting around in my urologist's offce advertising it, now.  Ya.  Hoo.

UPDATE, 05/05/2014:  I finally got my family doc to prescribe me Stendra.  The literature says that because I take Diltiazem for blood pressure, I should not take more than the lowest (50mg) dose, but that dose is on back-order everywhere for some reason, so he gave me some 100mg samples and said to cut 'em in half.  The first time I tried that, the other half of the pill went shooting out of sight and I never did find it.  The 50mg dose had absolutely no effect on my severe ED, so a day or so later I did a whole 100mg, which helped things but did not make it hard enough for penetration (although my angel of a wife cheerfully pleasured me orally!), so a couple days after that I did two 100mg tablets (they make a 200mg pill, so that's not outrageous) and it worked very well with no untoward effects, although it took a full 30 minutes to reach full power.  Still, supposedly you can take it with food, so that's a good thing!

UPDATE, 04/02/2015:  I'm on an ED1000 email list (subscribe at www.medispec.com) that says they are partnering with menshealthsolutions.ca in Canada to provide ED1000 treatment clinics.  The price for the treatment as of this date is $4000, although I dunno if that's USD or Loonies.  The on-line brochure also says ED1000 is approved as a treatment for Peyronie's, which is a surprise.  Not sure if I want to invest that much now and travel up North, or just wait until the treatment is approved in the US and might be covered at least partially by insurance.  Medispec's website has said for months that the ED1000 is in the final stage of clinical trials for approval by the FDA, so I wonder what the hold-up is, beyond maybe Pfizer, Lilly, the other PDE5 drug manufacturers trying to keep it off the market.  Oh, well....

In the Beginning, There was Papaverine....

I've suffered from ED since my early 20's, and when I try to Google the ED issues that are important to me on the Internet, it seems there is no frank discussion of them (although I'm probably not the most astute search engine user).  If you Google "Cialis vs. Viagra", for instance, you get a bunch of sites that tell what the medications do, their side effects, etc., but there is no real comparison information for them.  Well, I'm here to change ALL that, baby!  In subsequent posts (which will be shorter'n this one, I promise!), I will try to tell you in plain terms what my personal experience with ED and various treatments has been.  As I age, I hate to tell ya, the game continues to change so that the struggle continues, although things are still better today than when I began this battle....  Feel free to comment and share your own experience!

A brief (?) description of my background, which of course you can skip:  I'm 55 years old, am on my third marriage (ED was not a factor in them, far as I can tell), and I began seeking ED remedies back in the early 1980's.  At that time I thought it might be a psychological issue and went to see a couple of psychologists (not psychiatrists) which was futile: They told me to get in touch with my feelings, immerse myself in the moment, etc, etc.  Neither of them ever said maybe I should see a medical DOCTOR to see if maybe I had a medical PROBLEM.  Some of the literature on the subject I read back then mentioned the "postage-stamp" test, where at bedtime you put a string of stamps tightly around your johnson and glue the ends together so you can see if you have erections while you sleep, which implied that if you did have them, there was nothing physically wrong with you (which is 'way INCORRECT).  Well I knew I was having night-time erections and morning wood, so I figured my problem must be all in my head, sorry to say. Later I heard that something like 80% of ED cases are medical, not psychological, and I bet the percentage might be higher now that diagnosis and treatment options have improved.

I was able to muddle through sexual problems in my first marriage in my 20's because at that time my night-time spontaneous erections and morning wood could be made to last long enough to have a fairly satisfying sexual experience for both of us, although there were often long gaps between performances, mostly due to my fear of the big "I" happening, I think.  This went on until my marriage ended in 1992....  I soon met the woman I thought was really the love of my life, and when we were comfortable enough together, I explained the problem to her.  She was very supportive, and after reading Dr. Bernie Lubbers' great book Male Sexuality, I found the courage to consult my family doctor, who referred me to a doctor specializing in Sex Therapy, who sent me first to a Urologist.  He gave me a Papaverine test (hope I spelled it correctly, since I'm too lazy to look it up)-- they inject a drug into your penis(!) that causes a spontaneous erection and then see how long and how much of the drug it takes to work. The appearance is a bit curious, because if you're not aroused, the shaft of the penis enlarges but the head and skin remain soft.  When that happened, it was such a new experience that I kinda stroked it a little to see how it felt, which caused everything to be hard and tight.  When he came to check on me, the doc noticed it and told me not to play with it because it might skew the test.  It was kinda funny-- I'm kind of well-endowed, so the doc placed a small towel over my growing member to cover it, but of course it raised quite a tent in my lap while I waited, and at one point a nurse came in to that room by mistake, looked at me, mumbled something about being in the wrong room, stared at me for another second, then covered her mouth and giggled, then backed out the door!

The doc said the Papaverine test showed I was circulatorily challenged, so to speak, so after I finished dancing a jig and singing "IT'S NOT ALL IN MY HEAD!  IT'S NOT ALL IN MY HEAD!  WOOHOO!, he prescribed a 5cc Papaverin injection whenever I wanted to have sex (Viagra was not yet available).  It works great, once you get over the whole jabbing your penis with a hypodermic needle thing, but the process is rather lacking in spontaneity. We finally worked into kind of a routine, where we'd fool around a bit, which would arouse my manhood to it's maximum soft size, which then made the injection easier to perform....  Seems like it would take about ten minutes for the Little Man to fully stand at attention, but after that it was Katy Bar the Door!  The first time I tried it I was soooo ecstatic, we made love for almost an hour straight, and after a few minutes I could've gone another round, but she said enough was enough. If kept stimulated, the erection would last an hour and a half to two hours, but if put away immediately like when you need to leave for work,  it would only be about ten to fifteen minutes before you could go out in public without drawing unwanted attention.  I don't know if Papaverine is still available, but I think Total Performance Medical may prescribe a similar injectible.  TPM guarantees results, but there's a $300 fee to start their program and you can only get the exact drug formula they prescribe from them, and I dunno how that expensive that would be.  When Viagra came out I switched to that, but looking back, I'm not sure I should have....
